NAFC School Safety Referendum

​Why A Referendum?

During the 2019 Indiana Legislative Session, lawmakers passed Senate Bill 127 requiring a property tax referendum to fund the following school safety initiatives:

  • Employ School Resource Officers (SRO’s)

  • Conduct Threat Assessments

  • Update School Safety Plans

  • Develop or Update School Emergency Response Systems

  • Purchase Equipment to Improve Safety of Building Grounds or Buses

  • Establish a School Safety Office

  • Improve the Safety of a School Building

  • Implement Programs Addressing 

    • Mental Illness

    • Addiction

    • Anger Management

    • Bullying

    • School Violence Prevention

  • Professional Development for Staff

The success of the NAFC School Safety Referendum will provide immediate funding for services desperately needed to enhance the safety of all our NAFC Schools.
